For the eighth consecutive year, Kingsport City Schools (KCS) has achieved the top composite score of 5 in Tennessee Value Added Assessment System (TVAAS).

The next meeting of the Board will be its regularly scheduled business meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

Johnson Elementary is the only school in the State of Tennessee receiving this prestigious honor in the Leader In Me category, Exemplary Academic Proficiency.

This specialty license plate will be a legal, registered Tennessee specialty license plate that can be renewed each year. This is not a decorative or novelty plate.

The administrative retreat will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Shanna Hensley was named KCS Principal of the Year and Dr. Holly Flora was named KCS Supervisor of the Year.

Bryan Kerns, Dobyns-Bennett High School Fire Management Services and Mathematics teacher, named the 2024-25 State of Tennessee Teacher of the Year at the TDOE's annual Excellence in Education celebration.

Jerry Adams and Gerry Harrison were inducted into the tenth class on July 30, 2024.

With few exceptions, the Board will hold regular monthly board meetings on the second Tuesday at 6 p.m. and work sessions on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m.

All enrolled KCS students will receive meals at no charge, regardless of socioeconomic status, beginning Monday, August 5, 2024.
