At a joint work session of the Kingsport Board of Education and the City of Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Monday, April 24, 2023, KCS Superintendent Dr. Chris Hampton presented a review of a recently completed study exploring enrollment, facilities, and school conditions.

We want our students safe and healthy; to do so, we need the support of our families and the community to battle underage vaping.

KCS has partnered with the Governor's Early Literacy Foundation to provide six high-quality, age-appropriate books, and literacy building materials to your child this summer. These books will ship directly to your home at no cost to families or schools. Click for more information.

Dr. Chris Hampton has been named the permanent KCS Superintendent with unanimous approval of his employment contract by the Board of Education.

The meeting will now take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023 (originally scheduled for March 14, 2023).

Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-24 school year will be March 16, 2023 and Pre-K Screening will be held on March 23, 2023.

The purpose is to inform and discuss with parents and students the importance of mental and behavioral health, attendance, and the negative effects of truancy.
